Pluto TV is a cutting-edge free ad-supported online television service from California. An exclusive TV service provider portal runs seamlessly using web and mobile apps, multiple connected TV streaming devices, and smart televisions.
Pluto wanted to expand their presence on a global market and across smart TV devices. To do so, they had to reach a new level of software quality.
They were ready to extend an in-house software development capacity with an external team. But they had previous bad experience with offshore partners. We were confident that we can change their mind about how dedicated a dedicated team can really be.
Pluto requested 10 senior team members with a particular skill set. Their request took place during December holiday season—not an easy time to hire, we have to say. We’ve come up with a compromise:
In one month, we set up a dedicated team of 4 top-level specialists. Our time to fill was 31 days when average time to fill in our industry equals 52 days.
While the hired specialists were dealing with urgent tasks from Pluto, we found 6 more requested experts. All 10 positions were closed in 2 months.
In a year, the team grew up to 23 engineers. Even though the client and our developers were in different time zones, we’ve built an Agile workflow that integrated our team with Pluto completely. We agreed on a schedule suitable for both the client and the dedicated team. And to make the most of our time, we keep things real and keep all communications as constructive as possible.

In 2017, we kicked off our journey with Pluto.tv by bringing on board top-notch engineers to kickstart our development teams and lay the groundwork for Pluto.tv's bright future
2018
By 2018, our team had expanded to 15 members, with Brightgrove pushing the envelope in product development to enhance the user experience of Pluto.tv's mobile applications. In this phase, we also welcomed QA experts to the team, ensuring our innovations and expanded offerings consistently met top-quality standards for a flawless user experience
2019
2019 was a big year with Pluto.tv joining the Viacom family, marking a year of solid growth and strengthening our partnership. Our team expanded to 25, diving into AdTech and developing new product solutions
2020
In 2020, our team increased to 30, stepping up our game in Engineering Management, cloud advancements, and boosting our product testing to ensure top-notch quality.
2021
2021 witnessed our expansion into multiple international locations, finding the right talent to add another 10 members to our crew and diving deep into Agile process management to keep us nimble and efficient.
2022
2022 brought our Latin American expansion, growing our team to 60 and establishing Brightgrove as a key tech partner for Paramount, excelling in AdTech, app development, QA, and more.
2023
2023 was a milestone year with Pluto.tv and Viacom becoming part of Paramount. Despite the market's ups and downs, we stood strong, growing our team to over 70 and pushing further into DevOps and engineering to ensure we’re at the top of our game.
